Our Story

Rap-Shaw is a membership club of about 65 families, located on two islands on Stillwater Reservoir in New York State. The club is well over one hundred years old with roots as a hunting and fishing camp.

We are open from May through September. Members reserve time, sometimes way ahead, and sometimes on the spur of the moment when they see they have a couple days to spend in the woods. We enjoy the solitude, the friendships, the anticipation and the memories. We fish, read, relax, spend time on and in the water, and visit with old friends and new. Many families have been coming to Rap-Shaw for several generations. Stillwater Reservoir is off Stillwater Road between Eagle Bay in Herkimer County, and Lowville in Lewis County.
