LCHS Virtual Holiday Auction

LCHS Virtual Holiday Auction Welcome to the 2020 (stay) Home for the Holidays Virtual Tree & Wreath Auction for the Lewis County Historical Society! Thank you for supporting local history!

Scroll through the posts and place a bid in the comments field for the item of your choice! Dear Friends, Sponsors and Supporters:

For going on a hundred years, the Lewis County Historical Society has been the steward of our County’s rich history, and through our collections, exhibits, preservation endeavors, public programs, writings and publications, and fundraising initiatives, we have sought

to nurture a greater appreciation for both the history of this area and the ideas, values, successes and failures that bind us together as a County and a community. One the realities of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic means that we are not able to host our normal events as they have been hosted in the past. You may not know it, but typically our annual events fund a significant portion of our operational budget – and through community generosity we receive donations, sponsorship contributions, and ticket and raffle sales proceeds, which in turn are used to keep our lights on and our facility staffed. Our Home For The Holidays Festival, for example, has routinely kicked off the holiday season with such things as historic Christmas decorations, a bright festival of the trees, an eye-opening Lionel train display, and several days of family-oriented activities. Last year, this single event alone brought over 2,000 people through our doors; and their generosity was significant. Sadly, we won’t be able to host this event this year, at least in person. And while we are bringing you this tree and wreath auction online to keep the spirit alive, these changes will dramatically reduce the fundraising on which we have come to depend so significantly. Make no mistake: we know the impact of this pandemic has been hard on everyone financially, but if you can afford to do so, we would ask that you consider bidding on a tree or wreath in our auction, or making a donation online through our website www.LewisCountyHistory.org

We certainly understand if you cannot do this, but if you can and do, will we be forever grateful. And remember, donations are tax deductible to the full extent provided by law. We cannot thank you enough!
