When a group of middle schoolers attend the Jack's Lavender Farm Middle School Experience, and on day one decide that we should plant a corn maze and pumpkin patch and host a festival …we make it happen!

We’ll also have hamburgers, hot dogs, the best pig roast you'll ever have, drinks for all ages, cotton candy, popcorn, local vendors, and fall craft workshops available for purchase throughout the day.

On the last day of August, we celebrate a very special month for Jack's Lavender Farm! Each August, the Crew takes a break from the Farm for the start of school, getting prepared and adjusted to the new year ahead. This year was unique, as we had two Farm days in August for the first time ever with our JLF Beekeepers.

Back in April, we began the long-lived JLF dream of having bees and providing the opportunity for our teens to learn the magic work of beekeeping. Of our 10 high school Crew members, four chose to pursue this adventure. We did not expect to harvest honey this year, as the bees have been working hard to establish their hives. Yet, they gave us the gift of 12 mason jars of honey this month.

Huge shout out to Ms. Chandrika, our bee mentor, who offered her expertise, and has guided these four Crew members every other Saturday for three hours since April. She volunteers her time and her wish is to share her wisdom so our Crew can pass the skills on for years to come.

Lo and behold the 2026 JLF Summer Retreat photos!! 🤩🥳 (Facebook only allows 80 pictures, so we will have to disregard the 345 others for now!)

Thank you to everyone who helped make this adventure possible. Together, you donated $1,800 to take the Crew fishing, and donations over the year contributed another $2,000 to make this incredible week-long camping trip happen for 12 Lake County Teens!

Fishing was an absolute highlight for most of the Crew, and a serious test of their stomachs for the rest! 🙃 Either way, it was a brand-new experience they won’t ever forget! We caught A LOT of fish and each Crew member took 10 home to share with their family.

We could not provide experiences like this without your support. Your generosity goes directly toward giving our Crew opportunities, adventures, and memories they may not otherwise have, and it means more than we can say. Thank you for believing in them, and in our mission to Cultivate Opportunity for Lake County Teens!

JLF Friends & Family! Our apologies for the absence of updates lately! Our director's computer crashed July 31st and it has been a whirlwind getting everything up and running again. Our advice to everyone... backup your computer, even if you aren't the techy-type! It is really challenging to recover everything when your computer decides it's 10 -year- run was long enough😂

Today we are officially back in the digital world, and we are ready to catch up and stay connected with all of you! Be prepared for some beautiful pics of our amazing adventures at our Summer Retreat, Middle School Farm Experience, and honey harvest later this week. In the meantime, love, lavender and light to you! 💜

Thank you all for your heartfelt and generous donations for the JLF Crew Summer Retreat Ocean Fishing Adventure! We are just five days away and we are SO close to our goal!

As one Crew Member said yesterday, "I've been counting down the days for our retreat". There is power in those words, and we are so grateful for your help to make this week an amazing one for this group of teens who are committed to doing the work to better themselves and our community.

If you haven't had a chance to support this once- in- a- lifetime opportunity for our local awesome teens, and would like to, please do! Thank you again JLF friends, family and supporters, you are helping to make a big difference in the lives of our local youth.

We had a great time last night supporting the class reunion for 1980 -1984 graduates of Lower Lake High School at the Diener Ranch. The event brought all together to celebrate the past and present while raising money for the LLHS Scholarship Fund. We are so proud of our Crew for stepping up as volunteers to help their fellow schoolmates to receive scholarships in the future. Go JLF, go!

It's been all about irrigation at the Farm this past week with the Crew! What an incredible critical thinking math puzzle it has been. There is something pretty amazing watching teens figure out entire irrigation systems, from planning to plumbing. This system will allow us so much more time to do so many more things at the Farm. Go JLF, go!

Just one week left of our Middle School Farm Experience, and we are having SO much fun! 🌱💜 We can't wait to share what this incredible group of teens has been working on over the last few weeks.

In the meantime, we have something worth celebrating... one of our teen farmers has officially earned a farm name! 🎉

Meet Strat! (Apparently "strat" is gamer slang for "strategy"... Miss Annie learned something new this week! 😆)

He earned the name after sharing that he had a special seed-planting "strat," and it stuck.

Congratulations, Strat! Keep up the awesome work! We love having you at Jack's Lavender Farm 💜🌿
