The Bocce Tournament was a big success! We raised over $3,000 for local youth charities and donated half to Band of Pittsburgh. The winners of the event were the RE Club Team - Dean Marsico, Todd Veltri, Dave Monteverde and Dan Harford. They each will receive a yearly membership to the Bocce House of Pittsburgh which is valued at $347 apiece. The winners of the consolation flight were Tom & Jim Vitari, Steve Gierl and Ryan Burg. A big thank you to The Bocce House for hosting us and to our sponsors - Walter Stoecklein, Ramble on the Ridge, Penn Hab Electrical, Feeney Insurance Agency, The Blawnox Sportsman’s Club, and FC Financial.

The weather nixed our paddle tournament so we moved indoors. We're holding a bocce tournament fundraiser at new Bocce House in RIDC on Sunday, March 22 from 10:30 - 4:00. The fee gets you a game of bocce, free appetizers, and live music. The winning team of four all get a one-year membership to The Bocce House. Proceeds benefit the Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundation and Band Together Pittsburgh. Sign up here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/TDKCN58LQ2AN6

On Sunday, February 8th (Yes, Super Bowl Sunday) 8 AM–12 PM, the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church is hosting a Fill the Truck Food Drive to support our neighbors in need. Here is why it matters:

Food insecurity remains a serious challenge in our region:
- The Greater Community Food Bank reports record-high demand in 2025, with a 25% increase in food insecurity for the general population and 33% for children.
- 1 in 5 Pittsburgh children are food insecure. Additionally, 1 in 3 Black residents and 1 in 5 Hispanic residents experience food insecurity.
- High inflation, rising grocery costs, and the reduction of SNAP benefits are primary factors, forcing households to choose between food, utilities, and housing. It’s our neighbors and local families trying to make ends meet.

How you can help. There are 3 easy ways to contribute.

1) Donate items from your pantry: If you have extra non-perishable food, toiletries, or paper goods at home, please set them aside to donate.

2) Buy locally & drop off: Pick up a few extra items while shopping locally — supporting local businesses and help the cause!

3) Order from the Amazon wishlist: Click on the link below to have items delivered directly to the church. Please try to order by Wednesday, February 4, so donations arrive ahead of the event.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Paddle Tournament due to extreme cold weather this Sunday. Stay tuned for possible rescheduling or a different fundraiser to come. Stay warm!
