The May 2026 AlleKiski AWS meeting at River Forest Country Club was a great success as French wines from the Medoc region were sampled. Robert Cavanaugh was a an informative and entertaining presenter. Many thanks to Jim Hess who selected unique and decadent cheeses to pair with the wines. As always, the staff at River Forest treated us well. Plan to join us at the June 18 meeting for a premium wine tasting.

The April 2026 meeting was a joint meeting with the City of Pittsburgh chapter. We made new friends as we learned about Romanian wines. River Forest Country Club served great food with excellent service, as usual. Cheers! 🍷 Join us next month on May 21.

Mark your calendar for May 21, 2026. Alle Kiski AWS will be hosting Robert Cavanaugh at River Forest Country Club. He presented Bordeaux wines at the 2025 national convention and was very well received. $50 per person includes food and wine. Reservations required. Contact [email protected] for more details. The March 2026 Alle-Kiski AWS meeting featured Deb Mortillaro from Palate Partners / Dreadnaught Wines with River Forest Country Club food pairings. Several guests were welcomed to enjoy “Wines of Canada” with current members.

The February 2026 meeting was a great success thanks to our speaker, Matt Kristofik and other volunteers. Matt’s presented “WINE FINDS THAT WON’T BREAK YOUR WALLET.” All wines are Chairman Select wines from the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store, showing you can sip a quality bottle and stay cozy without overspending. As always, food pairings done by River Forest Country Club were delicious.

Thanks to many volunteers, the January Alle-Kiski AWS meeting was another success. Jill Ku**er, Wine Educator and Consultant from Taste Great Wines in Allison Park, Pa. presented "Great Wines for Post-Holiday Gatherings.” As always, River Forest Country Club provided delicious food to pair with the great wines. If you weren’t there, you missed out! Plan to attend the February 19, 2026 meeting. Cheers! 🍷

The November Alle-Kiski AWS meeting was a great success thanks to Adam Konerzer and River Forest Country Club. The group did a blind tasting of six wines. Adam led the discussion of describing each wine according to appearance,
smell, and taste. All of the wines from this meeting are available at the Pennsylvania Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores.

Several members of the Alle-Kiski AWS chapter attended the 2025 AWS National Conference in Chantilly, VA. The sessions were interesting, engaging, and informative. Presenters were extremely knowledgeable. The venue was beautiful with first-rate hospitality, service, and expertly prepared food. The event provided opportunities to learn about and taste MANY wines from around the world as well as connect with old friends and make new ones.

Our speakers for the October 2025 Alle Kiski AWS meeting were Ryta and David from NG Wine Services. The topic was: From Prop Manager to Star of the Show! A look at Grapes, Wines & Regions that were historically behind the scenes and now take center stage. The wine selections were delicious and paired nicely with menu items prepared by River Forest Country Club staff. This meeting concluded LeRoy’s term as chapter chair. Members welcomed Dave as the next chapter chair. Alle Kiski AWS thanks everyone who contributes to successful meetings.
