Community Center & Fitness Center Closure Notice

The Lower Brule Tribal Elections will be held at the Lower Brule Community Center on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Therefore, the Community Center and Fitness Center will be closed during this time.

There will be no open swim sessions today, Saturday, July 25, 2026, due to a scheduled event from 2-4pm.

We only have one staff member on duty today, who will be assisting with the event during this time.

To give everyone the best movie theater experience possible, our showing will begin later in the evening. The Community Center gym's large skylight lets in plenty of natural light, so we begin after dark for the best possible full movie theater experience.

Don't forget to bring your own chair! The Community Center gym only has metal folding chairs available, so bringing your own lawn or camping chair will make your movie night much more comfortable.

REMINDER: Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. No entry permitted if parent not present.
STRICT RULE!!

This is a late showing; participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Extreme Heat Notice

Due to the extreme heat, the Lower Brule Community Center will be open and available as a cooling center during the following hours:

Monday, July 20- Tuesday 21, 2026 @ 8-9pm.

Wednesday, July 22, 2026- 8am- 6pm (Event scheduled @ 6-8pm)

Thursday, July 23, 2026- 8am-9pm

Friday, July 24, 2026- 8am-9pm

We encourage anyone needing a cool place to escape the heat to stop by.
Please stay hydrated, limit prolonged exposure to the heat, and take precautions to stay safe during these high temperatures.
