Did you know Jesus has a Dakota name?

Wanikiya [wah-NEE-kee-yah] •verb•
Definition: To cause to live; Savior or Rescuer

This name comes from Dakota warrior societies when a man would either save his fellow warrior in battle or even sacrifice himself, the ultimate honor.

“Ḳa wacaƞtkiyapi kiƞ ed máni po, Wanikiya caƞteuƞkiyapi ḳa uƞkiyepi uƞ Wakaƞtaƞka ed íc̣ic̣u ḳa waihduṡna, wóomna iyokipi kiƞ he iyececa.”

Ephesians 5:2

“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
