Leah (our ED) has kicked off a series of videos talking about other ways that we support our kids after they join with the intention of helping others. Today she’s talking about rides to school and how much of a struggle it is for some kids and how AP is tackling that obstacle for kids who come to us for help.

Huge thank you to our Dream Team from BU’s PRLab this semester!! They put together a PR and Marketing/Communications plan and then designed and executed our Summer CAMPaign fundraiser, connected with companies, organizations and various media outlets, expanding our social media reach, and came up with such thoughtful approaches to our storytelling. We are forever grateful and in awe of their talents, kindness, collaboration skills, and joy and passion they brought to every project and task! We look forward to all the good they will do in their lives! Thank you to Amber, Ava, Brianna, Jiangzhou and Miranda!

On April 18th Mercy, Jaylyn, Xavier, Gerly, and Nay went to the MSPCA barn and helped clean horse stalls, chicken coop, and the goat area! It was really fun and brought a smile to their faces! On April 28th, 8th graders Mia and Angel went out with our Mentor Kiara to do a grocery run for a family and brought appreciation gifts to firefighters in Lowell and enjoyed meeting them! This project meant so much to them and brought a smile to their faces! Last night we were able to take 30 people in the AP community to see an exquisitely beautiful performance of Khmer Swan Lake at thanks to a generous donor! Our longtime Mentor Monica Veth played Queen Mother and it was amazing to see her in this role! The entire production was breathtaking and most of our group was not Khmer so we had the privilege of experiencing a different culture’s expression of dance and storytelling. Such a gift and why live theatre is so important, thought-provoking and perspective-altering. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this ballet to life!

It’s been a month of inspiring theatre!! We are so lucky to have the Lawrence High School Theatre program right in our community giving so many students the opportunity and resources to develop and showcase their tremendous talents. Congrats to and the entire cast and crew, incredible student choreographers on the best production of Evita we could ever imagine, student or professional! We took 50 AP people to all of the 4 amazing performances to not miss a moment of this achievement. Let the awards pour in!!
