During today’s lamb show, Carrie Race showed the FFA lamb that she has raised and worked with this year. Great job Carrie!

Today Jolene Jousma showed the Lowell FFA pig in the Kent County Youth Fair Pig Show. She represented herself and Lowell very well and came away with a ribbon in her market class!

Our Chapter Officers spent the day team bonding at Craig’s Cruisers. There was so much fun had together when riding rides and go karts, and our team was really able to get to know each other better and form better relationships with each other!

Yesterday, 8 students competed in the Dairy Judging and Showmanship contest at the Farm Bureau Pavilion at MSU. While it was a hot day, fun was had by all competitors!

Earlier this week, 8 students were able to attend the Michigan FFA State Leadership Conference in Lansing. Students were able to learn about different traits of a leader and what they can do when they go back to their chapter. We also got to see Frankie Eddy as she helped to lead this conference!

Last week we had two teams go down to MSU in the heat and competed at the state Livestock Judging Contest. They judged 8 classes of various animals including cattle, hogs, goats, and sheep.

Students recently had the opportunity to compete in the Region V Livestock Judging Contest. We were able to take 8 students who competed, some for the first time! Lowell FFA had a great showing, with Will Thomas being the 5th place individual, Frankie Eddy being the 3rd place individual, and the team of Lillian Schut, Chloe Kelley, Suzie Oesch, and Will Thomas being the Reserve Champions for the contest!

We would like to profusely thank the Culver's in Lowell and Cascade for donating money to our FFA Chapter. These funds will help cover member expenses during the following year!

Last week, we were able to celebrate our members at our annual awards banquet. Members who participated in contests and events from this last year were recognized for their hard work and success. We were also able to recognize our senior members who have helped us out so much. Congratulations to everyone!
