There was excitement in the air on Saturday as participants studied the small pieces of art, donated by artists, and selected their choices while waiting for their names to be randomly drawn in the Brush Gallery's annual "Four by Four" fundraiser. The money raised goes towards the Brush Scholarship, a $1000 scholarship for a UMass Lowell art student, and Special Perspectives, art programming for Megan's House, a transition program for young women recovering from addiction.

Once again, DIY Lowell's annual Community Chill Night was a rousing success Friday evening. Hosted at Mill No. 5. in their Overlook Gallery, guests voted for their favorite chilis and stews among a group of 15 competitors. Along with listening to the wonderful voice of Liz Raki, folks were treated to the popular "chilly" sundae bar. All in all, it was wonderful way to welcome in spring, and judging from the amount of smiles and hugs seen throughout the night everyone went home a winner!
