💙 💙 A big THANK YOU to Amy Whitehead-Pleaux, Head Start Collaboration Office Director with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, for spending time with our infants at Lowell Collaborative Preschool Academy this morning, as part of our Community in the Classroom initiative! 👶📚

Our youngest learners loved the opportunity to engage with a special community guest, and we are grateful for Amy's commitment to supporting early childhood education and Head Start programs. Community connections like these help enrich learning experiences and inspire our children, families, and staff every day. 🌟

We are incredibly grateful to the Greater Lowell Community Foundation for supporting the expansion of our Bone Builders program in Billerica! 💛

This program is about so much more than exercise. It helps older adults build strength, improve balance, and create meaningful social connections that support overall well-being. The response has been overwhelming, with strong demand and growing waitlists, showing just how important programs like this are in our community.

Thank you for investing in healthy aging and helping us make an impact for local elders.

With support from a $7,000 grant from the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, Community Teamwork, Inc. expanded its Bone Builders program for elders in Billerica.

The program quickly reached near full enrollment, with strong demand and growing waitlists, showing just how needed these opportunities are.

Participants are already seeing results: improved balance, increased strength, and meaningful social connections.

📢 Community Advisory: With the forecasted heat, it's important to stay safe and look out for heat-related illnesses. Extreme heat can be dangerous and even life-threatening if precautions are not taken.

➡️ For residents 60 and older, the City of Lowell Senior Center (276 Broadway) is open 7:00AM to 3:00PM with breakfast and lunch available in a cool environment.
➡️ Eliot Presbyterian Church (273 Summer St) is open Monday through Friday, 10:00AM to 2:30PM, with St. Pauls Soup Kitchen open from 2:00PM-6:00PM and serving dinner at 5:00PM.
➡️ Vinfen's Restoration Center of Greater Lowell (10 Technology Dr) is open 24/7 providing access to multiple types of support services.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and check in on neighbors who may need extra help. Please do not leave children or pets alone in motor vehicles.
