We are beyond proud of our incredible SkillsUSA Chapter!

This year, we had 26 students compete across 10 leadership competitions and 8 skilled & technical competitions and they showed up ready to Champion their future!

Our students represented us with professionalism, skill, and determination, and their hard work truly paid off!

Lovington SkillsUSA was one of four Gold Level Chapters of Excellence and is bringing home six state championships and lots of hardware!

We also experienced a special “passing of the torch” moment as one of our state officers, Abigail Shouse, officially retired her office. We are excited to announce that Rolando Gallegos has been selected to serve on the 2026–2027 New Mexico State Officer Team!

The future is bright, and we couldn’t be more proud of the leadership, dedication, and excellence our students continue to demonstrate. This is SkillsUSA the Wildcat Way!💙

SkillsUSA Lovington is ready to champion their future at SLSC!

These students have trained, prepared, and studied. It is time to put their skills to the test.

From culinary to welding, robotics to mass media, early childhood education to leadership championships… we are ready to compete!

This year we will see one of our chapter members retire their state office and hope to see another elected. We also hope to be named a gold level chapter of excellence.

All of this hard work has been done in the pursuit of helping our students become the best version of themselves and champion their future. See you soon SkillsUSA NM!

At our recent SkillsUSA meeting, we had the honor of welcoming State Representative Mr. Pettigrew and Mrs. Pettigrew as our special guests!

Our members participated in an engaging Q&A session, asking thoughtful questions about leadership, public service, and how to make a positive impact in our community. It was an incredible opportunity to learn more about their work serving our state and to hear their advice for students preparing to become future leaders.

🇺🇸SkillsUSA in Action at the Roundhouse!🇺🇸

What an incredible experience taking our SkillsUSA chapter officers and members to the State Capitol for CTSO Day at the Roundhouse! This trip was all about empowering students to use their voice and learn how to advocate for themselves, their programs, and Career & Technical Education.

Students had the opportunity to share dinner and meaningful conversation with Representative Randy Pettigrew and Mrs. Shannon Pettigrew, then spent the day at the Roundhouse meeting with local and state representatives and senators, building confidence and learning how policy connects directly to their futures. 🏛️

The leadership skills didn’t stop there. Our students jumped right into action—working through logistics for our State Leadership and Skills Conference, planning ahead for Nationals, and finalizing events and activities for SkillsUSA Week happening right now. 💪

These students are living the SkillsUSA mission every step of the way—developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and advocacy skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of their energy, professionalism, and drive to make an impact.
