As we wrap up another NLSC trip to Atlanta, it’s hard not to reflect on how far we’ve come in such a short time.
Four years ago, we started building a chapter from the ground up. Since then, we’ve earned Chapter of Quality, advanced to Chapter of Excellence, qualified national competitors every year, had two state officers two years, and now celebrate our second Top 10 national finish!
Here are the results:
Robotics Urban Search and Rescue was 23rd in nation piloted by Aiden Marquez and Levi Elliot advised by Nathaniel De La Cruz
T-Shirt Design was 19th in the nation designed by Rourie Ramirez advised by Tiffany Norris
American Spirit was 9th in the nation planned and presented by Rolando Gallegos, Zander Green, and Jaxon Lambert advised by Tracy Overcast and Paden Hagler
But awards only tell part of the story.
NLSC is about more than competition. It’s the early mornings, long days, team dinners, cheering on competitors, making new friends, creating lasting memories, and yes… ONE MORE trip to Waffle House!
One of the most rewarding parts is seeing our alumni continue to thrive. This week, we reconnected with several members, two whom were part of a National Silver Medal-winning Community Service Project. Their success is a reminder that SkillsUSA is about building career ready leaders and that our impact reaches far beyond our classroom walls.
To our competitors, officers, advisors, alumni, families, administrators, industry partners, and supporters: thank you. Every success this week was built on your support and belief in our students.
The medals and rankings will fade, but the experiences, relationships, and growth will last forever.
