Last week, we gathered at the Pitney Farm for our annual Home Builders Picnic! 🍔🌭

Despite a little rain at the start, we had a great turnout and a fantastic evening. We enjoyed delicious food, great music, and continued the fun with two drawings of our new Pull a Permit Raffle!

Both permits were rejected, which means the raffle is still up for grabs — guaranteeing that someone will win at our Golf Outing in September! ⛳️

A big thank-you to all of our sponsors who helped make the picnic possible, and to everyone who came out and enjoyed the evening despite the weather. And a special thank-you to the Pitneys for opening up their home and letting us host the event at the Pitney Farm!

We appreciate everyone who continues to support the Home Builders Association of Rockford, and we’ll see you at the golf outing! 🏌️‍♂️

What an incredible 4th of July Parade! 🇺🇸

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to walk with us, cheer us on, and celebrate with us at this year’s parade. We had an absolute blast, and our trio on stilts especially loved all the smiles, waves, and applause along the route!

Walter Lawson’s New Garage Door was installed today!

More progress at Walter Lawson’s Children’s Home! 🔨

After years of water damage, the framing repairs are officially complete thanks to the hard work of Oehlberg Construction. We truly appreciate their time and craftsmanship in helping move this project forward.

Next up: Roofing and a new garage door. Stay tuned for more updates as the transformation continues!

The Rockford Home Builders Association is excited to kick off our 2026 community service project, helping Walter Lawson Childrens Home to update one of their storage buildings.

The first step was cleaning out and preparing the space for the remodel ahead. A big thank you to GreenState Credit Union & Metro Insulation for donating their time and effort to get this project started.

It’s great to see support for Walter Lawson’s Children’s Home extending across the state line. The Home Builders Association has officially kicked off our project to transform an unusable storage building into a valuable asset for the organization. Last night, members and guests attended the May General Membership Meeting at The Mercato by Lino's. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of networking, industry updates, and camaraderie.

During the meeting, Abram Pick of Guilford High School was presented with the Emil Rodakowski Scholarship Award. Abram has gained valuable hands-on construction experience through his school programs and entrepreneurial work, and we look forward to seeing his future in the housing industry. Congratulations, Abram!

We also appreciate all guest speakers and members who shared updates and insights throughout the evening.

The Pull-A-Permit 50/50 raffle was not won, so the jackpot will roll over to the next meeting!

The HBA also has several exciting events coming up this summer, including participation in Rockford’s 4th of July Parade and the Summer Picnic at the Pitney Farm in August. We hope to see you there!
