Young women today are the answers to the dreams of their ancestors from long ago. We all come from an unbroken chain of women who, somewhere along the line, chose to bring forth the dream of the next generation.
PlantSong Ecological Mentorship for Teen Girls is an opportunity to reach for that sense of belonging. We come together to find belonging within ourselves, within our circle of togetherness, and within the dream of the Earth. This program will culminate in an initiation retreat day towards the end of our program. In traditional cultures, initiations mark pivotal thresholds. This time in a young woman's life is just that, a threshold moment. I, Saoirse, have been initiated multiple times through both self and community initiation and rites of passage work. It is through my own experiences from different types of initiations that I have felt the call to create new types of initiations for young people in the modern world.
PlantSong Ecological Mentorship is a woven tapestry of exploring life on earth through plants, songs, creativity and belonging. Some of the overarching themes and activities in this particular program are

🌿adventure (ie kayaking, hot springs, & more!)
🌿folk and culinary herbalism
🌿making wild foods
🌿nutrition
🌿self worth and self care practices
🌿creative earth practices (ie painting, weaving, 🌿poetry, writing, and song etc.)

🌿ecological literacy
🌿gardening techniques
