!! EVENT POSTPONED due to weather !! Will be rescheduled for a future date.
Join Cardinal for a staff-led hike through Westmark Woods on August 13th! Explore our newest public preserve and learn more about fellow community organizations Green Umbrella and the Center for Collaboration on Climate and Community for Health (C4H). The hike is an easy to moderate 0.9-mile trail and will run from 8 – 9:30AM, and more information is available on the attached flyer. We hope to see you there!

A REMINDER TO JOIN US THIS EVENING at Cardinal Land Conservancy 's Bahr Farm for an evening on warm-season grass pastures and hay production. Bahr Farm has successfully installed warm-season grass hay fields and pollinator-friendly pasture on its 32-acre site.

Farm Manager Nick Hartley will share their steps to establish warm-season grass. Jason Jones of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever in Ohio will cover its ecology, use in grazing systems, and support of wildlife. Watch a hay sampling demo and then end the evening with a pasture walk to identify grasses and see the Farm’s small cattle herd.

The winning submissions are a Killdeer at Bortz Family Nature Preserve from Bob Marklein and the waterfalls at Kope Hollow Nature Preserve by Greg Snyder!
A special shout out to Anthony Downs for his picture from the opening of our newest preserve: Westmark Woods Nature Preserve! Check out the wooded trails at this preserve in Springfield Township.
Thank you to all our entrants for participating in the contest this summer; we had some amazing entries that captured the unique beauty and wildlife of Cardinal's preserves .
The next seasonal contest will be announced in the coming months. We can't wait to see what you submit!
