Long post, but worth the read.
•
I read a story the other day and in it someone said “Just because you are in need does not mean you are a failure” and it has been on repeat in my head and my heart.
•
Life can humble any one of us, and needing help in a difficult season does not diminish a person’s worth, dignity, or strength.
•
Behind every product we hand out is a story. Some are fighting battles silently. Some are parents trying to feed their children while carrying burdens no one sees. Some are simply doing their best to survive one day at a time. And yet, in the middle of hardship, we witness courage, gratitude, resilience, and hope.
•
We believe people should never have to feel ashamed for needing support. We all need grace at different moments in life. Sometimes we are the ones giving, and sometimes we are the ones needing someone to hold us up. Neither position defines your value.
•
To every person in the GUGP community, you are not forgotten. You are not weak. You are not a burden. Your circumstances do not define who you are. This season is not your identity.
•
And to everyone who gives, volunteers, and shows up with love, thank you for helping us remind our community that compassion still exists. Thank you for choosing kindness in a world that can sometimes be lonely.
•
Some reminders for our community…
1. We will continue showing up.
2. We will continue loving people well.
3. We will continue reminding others that needing help is never something to be ashamed of.
•
And finally just because you are in need does not mean you are a failure. It simply means you are human.
