KidsPak Feeding the Future! We provide weekend food for food-insecure students in Thompson School Dist., CO.

Volunteers raise funds, purchase, pack, and deliver weekend bags of food for food-insecure students in the Thompson Valley School District serving Loveland and Berthoud, Colorado. The program partners with schools in the District to provide much-needed bags of food that meets the nutritional requirements for children. The program also partners with the Food Bank for Larimer County to create a spec

ific menu each week to meet these needs. We currently serve 39 schools (early childhood, elementary, middle, and high schools).

This might have been our favorite question of the entire survey. 💙

We are incredibly honored to serve this community, and the kind words, gratitude, and encouragement shared by families truly meant so much to us. Hearing how KidsPak has helped families is the greatest gift and a reminder of why this mission matters.

We also want to pass that appreciation along to every volunteer, donor, school liaison, community partner, and supporter who helps make KidsPak possible. Because so many people care enough to give their time, resources, and hearts, students in our community have food to take home each weekend.

Survey Question: Are there any items your student does not eat or like?

Once again, we heard just about every item listed — because kids are kids! 😄 Trust us, we totally understand not liking certain foods (we may even have a few picky eaters in the office ourselves).

Because of the way KidsPak bags are packed and distributed, we are not able to customize bags or do special orders based on preferences. Instead, we work hard to provide a variety of foods so that every student receives several items they will enjoy and use.

If there is ever an item your family cannot use, we encourage you to pass it along to someone else — whether that’s another member of the household, a friend, or someone in the community who may enjoy it. 💙

Survey Question: What are your student’s favorite food items in the bag?

We love this question because families listed almost every item in the bag as a favorite (except maybe the tuna 😄). To us, that means we are on the right track!

KidsPak works hard to choose foods that are kid-friendly, nutritious, non-perishable, durable, and still fit within our weight and cost limits. Finding that balance is important so we can continue providing quality bags to every student who needs them.

This coming school year, we are excited to begin testing some new “bonus items” in the bags. Bonus items allow us to try out new foods without replacing the regular staple items families count on. It also helps us test things like popularity, durability, and how well items work in the bags overall.

We are listening to what students want to see in their bags, and when possible, we are excited to try some of those ideas out! 💙

⛳ Today, May 30th, is the LAST DAY to register for The Investment Center KidsPak Golf Tournament!

We’ve added even more this year to make it a great day on the course, including:

Survey Question: How satisfied are you with KidsPak Weekend Food Bags?

We are grateful that the majority of families shared they are “Satisfied” or “Very Satisfied” with KidsPak bags. 💙 At the same time, we also see this as an opportunity to continue improving.

We want every family to feel comfortable sharing suggestions, concerns, or ideas with us. Feedback helps us better understand the needs of the community and how we can serve students and families more effectively.

KidsPak plans to continue conducting surveys like this, and in the coming year we also hope to hold listening sessions with families, school staff, and community partner liaisons. The more we learn, the better we can adapt and improve our program to meet the needs of those we serve.

Survey Question: How often does your student eat the food provided in the KidsPak bag?

68.4% of families who responded shared that the food from KidsPak bags is used every weekend. While we wish families did not have to rely on services like ours, we are committed to being there whenever support is needed and providing Weekend Food Bags every weekend of the year. 💙

This feedback also reminds us how important variety is. No one wants to eat the same foods every weekend! KidsPak rotates through several menu options and continually looks for new items that meet our standards for nutrition, durability, weight, kid-friendliness, and cost.

Families also shared ideas for foods they would like to see added to the bags, and we are excited to explore adding some of those items in the future.

It warms our hearts to hear that so many families shared that KidsPak bags help them “A Lot” when it comes to having enough food over the weekend. 💙

Survey Question: How Many Students in Your Household Receive a KidsPak Weekend Food Bag?

KidsPak delivers an average of 650 Weekend Food Bags each school week, and our survey showed that the majority of families have at least 2 students receiving bags.

We are proud that every student can receive their own bag, while also including items that can help create meals for the entire family. Providing a bag for each student helps ensure we are serving families fairly and meeting the needs of households of all sizes.

Every bag represents a student who will have access to food over the weekend — and that matters. 💙
