Founders update 🙂 Two 26 foot moving trucks, over 700 moving boxes in the database, and 3 storage units later, Jason and Debora are back in New York to stay. .bernagozzi has started his new job teaching in the Cinema Department at Binghamton University. is busy putting the finishing touches on a huge Signal Culture exhibition that opens in October (more on that tomorrow). We’re renting temporary space while we find a new, hopefully permanent, home for us and for Signal Culture in Binghamton. Tonight we went for a walk with Hank in Owego, just down the block from where we started. Life is feeling really nice.

The new Re:Trace update coming soon includes 6 through-zero oscillators to control rotation, position and luminance displacement in all three dimensions for a total of 9 vectors of control. In addition, Jason is including the option of working with your audio card to bring in sound from your hardware or software audio synthesis systems. Most importantly, the manual controls can be used in combination with control voltage, meaning you can perform simultaneously with your oscillators.

2 of Signal Culture’s co-founders .bernagozzi and are doing their last performance in Colorado before the move this Saturday, May 31st at 7pm at the , LEAF. Debora will be peforming live with the Signal Culture Modular Apps Frame Buffer and PXLMSH used together, and Jason will be doing live sound with a Eurorack modular system. Despite being very busy packing, they decided to do a totally new piece. Here are some stills, though the video is created in a live, improvisational performance and will be different every time.

Lots of Signal Culture alums between the gallery show and Friday and Saturday’s performances including , who runs the festival, , , and (Jahnavi Stenflo and Nathan Jantz).

Hope to see you there supporting this great community. The performances are ticketed events, but not expensive. https://leafcolorado.org/leaf2025/

Flux, video and sound performance, Debora and Jason Bernagozzi, 2025

For over a decade, Debora and Jason Bernagozzi have created realtime video and audio performances that can be felt as much as understood. Their work explores themes such as ritual, transmission, and memory. They perform using custom software and hardware and work with visual media in an improvisational way. Their performance, Flux, created for this year’s Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival, explores how we continue, move on, and flow through from one state of being to the next. This work is a meditation on the totality of their experience in Colorado, a love letter before the next horizon.
