It takes a lot of hands to keep things moving! 👋🙌👐🙏 Some of our volunteers serve weekly in programs, some jump in for big loads like milk donations, others welcome neighbors at the Hospitality Desk, and some use their own vehicles to pick up food donations.

A special thank you to John for showing up each week to help with donation pickups. We couldn't do this work without our amazing volunteers, donors, and staff. They are truly the heart of the Caring Neighbor Movement. 💙

So, this is the HNS Family Day Center. 🍴🍳 It is a space where children experiencing homelessness and their families can find respite during the day.

Families can use the kitchen to prepare meals, keep food cold in the refrigerator, take a much needed shower, use the computer for important tasks, wash their laundry, or simply stretch out on the couch and rest for a while.🛁💻

You know what? It is a pretty special place, and you really have to see it for yourself.☺

💙Connect with us at honservice.org to learn more about this incredible space and how you can become a monthly donor helping create brighter days for children and their families the moment they walk through the door.

Looks like she’s sorting canned food in the Food Pantry!

Thank you, Clare, for making sure the donations we receive are high quality and ready for the neighbors we serve. We appreciate you helping keep our pantry shelves in great shape! 🥫💛

Looking for a meaningful way to give back this summer?

House of Neighborly Service is currently seeking amazing volunteers to help with our weekly donation pickups. We have immediate needs for both Food Donation Pickup Volunteers and Bakery Donation Pickup Volunteers.

Volunteers must be willing to use their own personal vehicle for pickups and be able to lift between 30 and 50 pounds, depending on the route.

If you're looking for a flexible opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of your neighbors, we'd love to connect with you! While this is a great opportunity for the summer months, these volunteer roles can also continue beyond the summer for those interested in serving year round.

To get started, please complete our online volunteer application at honservice.org or reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

Your time helps ensure that food and resources reach neighbors in our community. Join us this summer and make a difference for local families and individuals.

Who’s this? It’s the PAT Team: Parents as Teachers!👩‍🏫👼👨‍🏫

These numbers you see from April might not mean a lot at first glance, but they offer a small glimpse into the meaningful connections this team makes with families from all walks of life. The PAT team works with parents of children ages 0–5, helping educate and strengthen the bond between parents and their little ones during those important early years.

😁This smiling crew meets with parents, helps set developmental benchmarks, coordinates hearing screenings, and plans fun experiences for families and kids to enjoy together.

If you know someone who might be interested in enrolling with the upcoming openings, send them our way: honservice.org

Are you making your way over to the Life Center?

You’ll be welcomed by some friendly faces like these two when you walk in. They’re here to help and guide you to where you need to go.

The Life Center is owned and operated by HNS, and it’s home to several nonprofits and organizations that serve our community. Whether you’re stopping by for bread, meeting a friend at the Treasure Exchange, or connecting with one of the partner organizations, there’s always a reason to come in.

Stop by and say hello. We’re glad you’re here.

Hey Deb, what’s that big red bag?

❤It’s the Fight Hunger Bag from King Soopers! We’re grateful that House of Neighborly Service will once again benefit from the Fight Hunger Bag Program this June and July. For every $2.50 reusable bag sold at participating King Soopers stores, $1 supports our food programs and helps local households access groceries when they need it most.

Next time you’re shopping, grab the big red bag and help fight hunger right here in our community.🛒
