Connecting people with resources. Strengthening our community!

Last week, DRS staff members Kate and Al represented Disabled Resource Services, Inc. at the 2026 Project Homeless Connect event in Fort Collins!

Hosted by Homeward Alliance, this annual event brings together local organizations and service providers to connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability with essential services, resources, and support.

For people with disabilities, barriers to accessible housing, transportation, and other basic needs can make achieving stability even more challenging. Events like this help bridge those gaps by bringing resources together in one place.

Thank you to Homeward Alliance for organizing this important community event and to Kate and Al for representing DRS!

Jail Transitions:

A fresh start deserves a strong foundation!

Transitioning back into the community after incarceration can come with challenges, and Disabled Resource Services is here to help individuals with disabilities navigate the next steps.

Through our Jail Transition Program, eligible participants may qualify for assistance with:

🏠 Housing: Resources and potential financial assistance to help secure stable housing.

đźš— Transportation: Support getting to work, school, appointments, and other essential destinations.

đź’Ľ Employment & Education: Resources to help build job skills, pursue education, and prepare for employment.

Our goal is to reduce barriers, promote independence, and help individuals build stability as they return to their communities.

Funding is limited, eligibility requirements apply, and assistance is not guaranteed.

Lisa and Kate joined community partners from across Northern Colorado at last week’s 2026 NoCo Continuum of Care Partner Convening!

The NoCo CoC brings organizations across Larimer and Weld counties together to coordinate resources, housing initiatives, and regional strategies to address homelessness.

For DRS, being part of these conversations matters. People with disabilities can face significant barriers to finding and maintaining stable, accessible housing, and collaboration across our community helps connect people with the resources and support they need.

Thanks to Lisa and Kate for representing DRS and helping strengthen the partnerships that make this work possible!

It’s National Mad Hatter Day, so naturally we’re putting our hats back on for one more Tea Party update! 🎩

Last month, our Mad Hatter Tea Party brought our community together for an afternoon at the McCreery House, all while supporting the work of Disabled Resource Services, Inc.

Thanks to our guests, sponsors, donors, and community partners, and last but not least our wonderful staff!

Those dollars help DRS continue providing services at no cost to people with disabilities throughout Larimer and Jackson Counties, supporting greater independence, choice, and inclusion in our community.

Now THAT is something worth celebrating on National Mad Hatter Day.

At DRS, we don’t decide what someone “should” be working toward.
You set the goal.
Our team helps you identify barriers, explore options, build skills, connect with resources, and advocate for what you need.
Because independent living isn’t about doing everything on your own. It’s about having choice and control over your own life.
