Marriage in medicine comes with a unique set of pressures—financial sacrifice, demanding training, unpredictable schedules, and weighty calling decisions. At the 2026 Christian Medical & Dental Associations National Convention, we heard honest, hope-filled stories from couples who have walked through every season of this journey.

We explored three areas that often shape medical marriages: Finance, Field, and Faith—and were reminded that none of these are walked alone when Christ is at the center.

We’re grateful for the vulnerability, wisdom, and encouragement shared, by Dr Mike and Pam Chupp, Drs. Matt & Crystal Mattox, and Arthur & Karina Germakovski. ❤️

So grateful for the beautiful leadership of Molly Gopforth and Jessica Short at Side By Side Fort Worth. 🤍

Molly has been such a faithful part of this ministry — a humble servant leader who leads with both vulnerability and strength. Her caring heart, thoughtful words, and steady consistency through health struggles and pregnancies have been such a reflection of God’s faithfulness.

Jess continually seeks the Lord first, and through His strength pours endlessly into others. Her selfless servant heart shines so brightly, even while solo parenting, and her leadership points so many back to Jesus.

Consider this your permission to say "no" to something today.

“You don’t need a perfect partner, you need a shared direction… towards Jesus.” 🤍⛰️

Such a beautiful takeaway from Session #1 of the Family Life Track at this year’s CMDA National Convention: Streams and Summits: Climbing Together, Kept by God with our own Side By Side Director Rebecca Lehman and her husband Dr. Joshua Lehman.

This session was a powerful reminder from Psalm 121 that marriage was never meant to be sustained by perfection, but by two people continually lifting their eyes to the One who keeps them. Through every summit and every stream, God remains faithful.

“Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” — Psalm 121:2
