In a special issue in the Journal of Public Health Practice and Management (JPHPM), CDC has collaborated with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy to highlight this work.

NAMI Nebraska is recruiting new Program Leaders to lead Family Support Groups throughout the state- sign up by scanning the QR code before the 12 slots we have fill up!

NAMI Family Support Groups are free, confidential 90-minute sessions for family members of individuals living with mental health conditions.

Each group will have two Program Leaders, paid a stipend for leading support groups, which can be led in person or virtually and weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on what works best for you.

Training sessions are 100 percent free and will take place via Zoom on October 2nd through 4th, with attendance required on all three days to earn the Program Leader certification.

SCPC is out and about today, with Sticker Shock! What is that? Just a friendly reminder that adults over the age of 21 shouldn't provide alcohol to minors. Not only is it a terrible idea, but it has major legal consequences and natural ones. If you know an alcohol retailer in Sherman County that would like to participate, let us know in a quick message, if you know someone is providing alcohol to minors please contact the Sherman County Sherriff's Office. We appreciate anyone who reaches out! 🙂

A warning to boaters operating impaired during the Fourth of July weekend: Nebraska conservation officers will be watching. 🚨

Operation Dry Water, a national heightened awareness and enforcement campaign focused on reducing the number of alcohol- and drug-related incidents and deaths, is July 3-5.

For those days, you can expect to see Nebraska Game and Parks conservation officers having an enhanced presence on waters across the state, targeting impaired boat operators. Their goal will be to raise awareness and to foster a stronger, more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use on the water through enforcement.
