The Sherman County Community Foundation is proud to announce that 8 graduating high school seniors in Sherman County and 1 post-graduate student will receive a total of $30,000 in scholarships through the Foundation this year. This amazing benefit is due to the generosity of over 20 individuals, couples, and families who donated money specifically for scholarships to help Sherman County youth on their path to higher education. Your support is making it possible for the Sherman County Community Foundation to help fund improvements in every town in Sherman County this year. Memorial donations, proceeds from the 2025 Good Life Gala, and funding from the estates of donors like Arline Clark, and Reuben and Wanda Lewandowski are helping invest more than $60,000 for the betterment of Sherman County. Over half of that investment will go toward community building improvements. Your generosity makes a difference in our communities!

A new LIFEPAK cardiac monitor and defibrillator will replace outdated equipment in Litchfield's ambulance with the help of a $15,000 Community Impact Grant from the Sherman County Community Foundation. The monitor is considered the most used piece of equipment in the ambulance and parts were getting difficult to find for the old model. The Foundation is proud to work with the Litchfield Rural Fire and Ambulance District in improving life-saving equipment for the estimated 400 people that the district serves in the Litchfield area.

Four paintings of trees by Litchfield High School art students were auctioned off during the recent Good Life Gala for a total of over $1,000. The students, led by instructor Allison Varah, donated their work to help decorate the entrance into the Loup City Community Center where the gala was held. The paintings reflected the gala's theme "Rooted in Our Communities". Student artists Ava Paitz, Jori McNeil, Wesley Fowler, Markus Bester, Jenna Holm, and Conrad Lichtenberger demonstrated a spirit of community collaboration celebrated by the gala. Thank you and nice work!
