Nerd Louisville is part of Give for Good this year and we are SO EXCITED at the possibilities this could bring to our community 💜

If you haven't thought about WHY Nerd Louisville is so passionate about gaming, let us explain a bit more about why what we do matters:

In this day and age, it can be hard to show up for the creative parts of ourselves. To find time to connect and indulge in something truly fun, where we all get to escape reality for a minute or two and have a grand adventure together.

But gaming isn't just about frivolous fun (although we do support that too!) it's also about building community. About bringing new friends together for life and helping all of us find our place in this world, one dice roll at a time 💜

We believe that what we do truly makes a difference and if any of this resonates with you, please consider donating to Nerd Louisville this year on September 10th through Give for Good.

We hope everyone will join us for Slur 200-ish on Sept 13th at Kaiju! They have been a solid partner with Nerd Louisville for 10 years now, but they are going in a new direction with their Sunday evenings. We thank them for many years of gaming and wish them well.

In the meantime, let's go out with a bang! Come out and enjoy some pizza and games with us!

And don't worry...we're working on finding a new location to continue with our Sunday night gaming events and hope to have good news to announce soon! 😀

We at Nerd Louisville are delighted to contribute some games to Highland Middle School!! They have a truly novel approach to each morning in class called a "soft start" where students put away all technology/screens and game together, or do creative projects to start the day!

We obviously love this idea and think more of us should incorporate it into our adult daily lives too 🥰

Highland Middle School also has an awesome consumer science program we wanted to shout out!! Students grow things in the garden (or raise chickens and quail!) while other groups learn culinary arts and finally how to market their wonderful produce and products!

It feels so great to add some extra supplies to a school already doing so much good for the next generation. We love to see more gamers, gardeners, chefs, and communicators in the world!

If you have always wanted to GM, but have felt unsure of where to start, then this is the workshop for you! GM 101 introduces aspiring and novice GMs to the fundamentals of the craft! Answering their questions and providing real-time coaching on techniques. GM 101 has been run at GenCon, Origins, PAX Unplugged and other major TTRPG conventions, consistently receiving stellar feedback by those who attend.

Created by educators and master GMs who want to see more people leading their friends through dungeons and across paths and into the faraway reaches of our imagination: GM 101 will get you prepped and ready to sit at the head of the table.

Nerd Louisville was lucky enough to be invited to DeSales High School for a day of nerdy-ness! Chris ran a group through Shadowdark and Tom introduced his group to Fabula Ultima!

There was also a room for Warhammer and plenty of space for students to celebrate their favorite nerdy hobbies!

We personally would love to see more young people rolling dice and collaborating at the table together! This was an outstanding experience for us and look forward to more opportunities to bring up the next generation of role playing gamers!
