We are pleased to announce our Spring 2026 Patricia Pasley Scholarship recipient, Mercury Durrett.

Mercury is a Journalism major at Western Kentucky University with a minor in Criminology. She chose her field of study because of her passion for writing about the world around her and her desire to focus on crime reporting to help keep communities informed and safe. At WKU, Mercury is actively involved in several organizations, including the Baptist Campus Ministry, where she serves on the Leadership Team and Prayer Ministry. She also serves as the Service Director for Omega Phi Alpha, a National Service Sorority, and participates in the Intercultural Student Engagement Center (ISEC), which supports first-generation students and fosters a culturally inclusive campus environment.

Mercury’s dedication to both service and academics is reflected in her achievements, as she has earned placement on both the President’s List and the Dean’s List during her time at WKU.

World Cancer Day ‼️ “United by Unique”

2026 is generally predicted to be a positive year of significant growth, self-care, emotional healing, and opportunities, especially with Jupiter bringing luck and abundance, though some sources mention needing discipline for career/finance balance, with better progress expected in the latter half of the year. It’s seen as a transformative time to embrace self-love, pursue goals, and build on past efforts, with strong intuition guiding personal development.

Key themes for Cancer in 2026:

Self-Love & Health: A focus on nurturing yourself, improving routines, and listening to intuition for physical and emotional well-being.

Career & Finance: Gradual but steady progress; the second half of the year offers better opportunities for recognition, expansion, and financial rewards, requiring patience and hard work.

Relationships: Harmony is expected, with chances to deepen bonds, heal misunderstandings, and find emotional fulfillment.

Growth & Transformation: A year to bloom, step into your potential, and make significant, positive changes.

Definitely had to reshare

In 1952, service met friendship then friendship met equality. We’ve stood united in our commitment ever since. For 73 years, communities have been lifted, lifelong bonds have been built, and lasting impact has been created. From white roses to penguin pride, every symbol tells a story. Today we honor every sorority who makes the flame of the torch our founders lit continue to shine. Happy Founders Day to us Sorors!
