EAA chapter 110 KLOU EAA Chapter 110, established in 1961, is located at Bowman Field in Louisville, Ky. We are a group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Aero Club at the airport.

If you’re interested in aviation or learning to fly, or you are a private pilot student, there will be a free ground school class at the Clarksville, Ind., library starting Sept. 14. The instructor, Mike Stock, offers his services free of charge as a way to give back to the aviation community.

Mike has spent more than 50 years in aviation as a military and commercial pilot and as a chief flight instructor.

The class is a great way to gain understanding of the ground topics you’ll need to know to start flying, or to review for your private pilot training.

The class meets each Saturday from Sept. 14-Dec. 7. The only cost is $130 for supplies.

 Our monthly meeting will be this Wed evening , 7 PM at the Aero Club .

The presentation subject will be avionics. Dave Schmitz and Jeff Scott will demonstrate Avidyne and Dynon systems. This should be very interesting and informative.

As pilots our chapter members have many skills, but who knew one of them was baking? Chapter Vice President Bob Waggoner made this cake of a Boeing 777 as we sent off chapter member Tiffany Meredith to United Airlines’ new Aviate Academy in Phoenix last night. We hope to see her flying the 777 for United one day!

Our next meeting is Wednesday night, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Aero Club. This time we will start with … a chili cook-off! 🥣

Seriously what’s better than chili when the weather is cold and snowy?? Bring your chili to be judged by a jury of your peers, and warm up with a hot meal before we start business. We’ll even have prizes and trophies for the winners.

If you bring an entry, try to get there around 6:30 p.m. to set up.

Spouses and other “ringers” are welcome!
