Today, the District Four Sports Steering Committee on Thursday received a donation of four bags of rice, four sacks of sanitary pads, and LRD 30,000 from philanthropist Phephe Kadie Gorpulay and her son, Oscar Mendin, Jr., in support of the district's participation in the ongoing 2026 Nimba County Electoral District Peace Tournament.

‎The donation was officially presented on behalf of the donors to assist the committee in meeting some of the team's logistical and welfare needs as the competition continues.
‎
‎As an additional show of encouragement, LRD 2,000 was also presented to each of the two teams as motivation ahead of their crucial second-round match against Electoral District Nine, scheduled for Friday.

‎Receiving the donation, Mr. Allen Sangar, Chairman of the District Four Sports Steering Committee expressed heartfelt appreciation to Madam Gorpulay and Mr. Mendin for their timely support and commitment to youth development through sports. They described the contribution as a significant boost to the team's morale and preparations.

‎The committee further called on other citizens, business owners, and well-wishers of District Four to emulate the generous gesture by supporting the team's campaign as it strives for success in the tournament.

The Board of Directors, Chief Executive Director Madam Phephe Kadie Gorpulay, President Madam Godchild Dahn , Officials, and Members of the Gorpulay Foundation extend warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia; Hon. Jeremiah Kpah Koung, Sr., Vice President of the Republic of Liberia; the Honorable Members of the National Legislature; all officials of the Government of Liberia; Business Executive of Liberia; Students; Motorcyclists; Farmers and every Liberian at home and abroad on the joyous occasion of Liberia's 179th Independence Anniversary.
