Family Child Care Resource Roundup!
What happens when 15 family child care providers get a room full of toys, loose parts, books, manipulatives, and other hands-on materials, and $85 in “play money” to shop with?
A lot of fun, creativity, and connection! ❤️
On September 12, 4-C staff, as part of the Family Child Care Network of KY, hosted a Resource Roundup for family child care providers. Many of the materials were generously donated by a local child care center that was closing, giving these resources a chance to be loved and used in new programs.
Providers got to choose materials for the children in their care, take home free books, and, perhaps most importantly, spend time connecting with one another, sharing ideas, and talking about how they could use their new materials.
As provider Pilar Cruz of Poplar Montessori shared, “We truly value these opportunities for training, connection, and support.”
We’re grateful for the generosity that made this day possible and for the family child care providers who do so much for children and families every day. 💚
