Opal's Dream Foundation Who does Opal’s Dream Foundation help? Opal’s Dream Foundation assists seniors lacking adequate means of support. When are dreams fulfilled?

Opal's is a BBB-accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to improve quality of life for seniors living in over 100 nursing homes across Kentucky & Southern Indiana. These are commonly nursing home residents with no living relatives, or whose families are not able to support them. Dream requests are submitted by nursing homes to Opal’s Dream Foundation website. They are reviewed by the Board of Directors and granted based on need and potential impact. Why is it called Opal’s Dream Foundation? Our foundation is named for Opal Grubbs, who spent 44 years - her entire adult life - in a nursing home in Louisville, KY. She dreamed of one day being able to leave the nursing home and of seeing the ocean. Sadly, her dreams were not fulfilled, but in her memory we have made the dreams of countless other seniors come true!

Who doesn’t love surprises?!? Our friends at Zeon Chemicals in Louisville recently notified us they plan to support Opal’s Christmas program with a $1,000 donation.

Today they donated a dozen boxes of snack cakes and cinnamon rolls. We promptly distributed them locally to Landmark of River City and River Oaks Post Acute in downtown Louisville. Some local residents are going to have a happy Thursday for sure and thanks to Zeon we will be able to continue our Christmas tradition in 2026.

If you or your company are interested in donating to Opal’s Dream Foundation please let us know! We love being able to help residents in our network of over 70 nursing homes throughout Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
