If you live in Beechmont, you belong to JCPS District 4. Louisville Urban League is hosting a candidate forum on August 25 from 6pm to 8pm at Fern Creek High School, prior to November 3rd General Election

District 1 kicks things off tomorrow, August 18, at 6 PM at Central High School, followed by forums for Districts 2–5.

We understand that some of you came to the Community Center to attend the monthly meeting. We apologize for the inconvenience and are grateful for your dedication to our neighborhood and to the BNA! We will hold the August 17 meeting in person at the Community Center at 6:00 as usual and look forward to seeing you there.

We decide to hold July's meeting over zoom due to multiple members traveling. Although a zoom link was sent and an event shared on FB, it is clear the information did not reach everyone. Many apologies.

We have an update on the former Nagaad Cafe site (reference the original post from 7/18):
Recently we learned that the potential tenant asked the landlord's realtor to share with us a few of their intentions. These are points shared verbally; they will not be part of the lease agreement.
1. A staff member and an off-duty police officer will be present.
2. It will close at midnight
3. They will not allow alcohol or smoking.
4. Only customers 21 and over will be permitted.

You may have heard that a charitable gaming business might be considering renting the former Nagaad Cafe location at the corner of Woodlawn and Southern Parkway. We want to let you know the BNA board is seeking more information. As facts become known to us, we will share them.

Tonight’s concert at the gazebo has unfortunately been cancelled due to inclement weather. We hope to reschedule and will post as soon as we know if and when that’s possible at a later date. Stay dry tonight and thank you for making this a great concert season at the gazebo!
