Celebrating the birthday of the great Buddy Rich today! 🧁🥁💥🎶😻 Buddy Rich (September 30, 1917 – April 2, 1987) was an influential American jazz drummer and bandleader widely considered one of the greatest and fastest drummers in history. Born in Brooklyn in 1917, Buddy Rich started drumming at just 18 months old and was performing professionally as a child. He became famous for his blazing speed, explosive power, and incredible precision. He performed with giants like Artie Shaw and Tommy Dorsey before leading his own acclaimed bands. Gene Krupa called him “the greatest drummer ever to have drawn breath.”
