Kentucky Oral Health Coalition A coalition of dental professionals, parents, teachers, advocates & many businesses working together

The Kentucky Oral Health Coalitions will;

To actively participate, communicate and encourage relationships of the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition with other advocacy groups in promoting oral and overall health for everyone residing in the Commonwealth;

To promote and encourage active interaction, effective collaboration and cooperation between all providers of oral and general health care and individuals within the population of Kentucky that need oral health services, prevention and education through the establishment of public-private partnerships by 2014;

To advocate for improved access to oral and general health prevention, services and education for all residents of the Commonwealth by 2020.

The date is set! Mark your calendars and join the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition for our December Annual Meeting in Lexington, Kentucky!

This annual gathering brings together oral health professionals and advocates across the Commonwealth to connect, and look ahead at the work to strengthen oral health in Kentucky. Members will also have the opportunity to vote of the 2027 policy agenda for the upcoming session. Stay tuned for registration and sponsorship opportunities!

Register now for our September Quarterly Meeting!

We invite all oral health advocates and professionals to join Kentucky Oral Health Coalition for a virtual quarterly meeting on September 25th, 2026 at 10AM-12PM EST. KOHC quarterly meetings serve as dedicated virtual convenings to learn about policy-related news and hear updates from the coalition and its members about the oral health work happening across the Commonwealth. Dental CEUs are available for this meeting for KOHC members.

Kentucky’s Kindergarteners are Missing out on Required Dental Screenings🦷

In our last June Quarterly Meeting we were joined by Karena Cash, Data and Research Director for Kentucky Youth Advocates, who shared concerning data on oral health screenings among Kentucky’s kindergarteners. Under Kentucky law, children entering public kindergarten are required to have a dental screening or exam on file. Yet in the 2024–25 school year, only 39% of Kentucky kindergarteners received a dental screening.
