STREET OUTREACH: We hand-deliver pet food, supplies and provide veterinary assistance to the houseless with companion animals. We work with caseworkers that are helping the houseless with pets transition to homes to make sure they receive the pet food and assistance that they need to keep their pets healthy and happy during their transition period.

We want to get in on the National Dog Day celebration. We present to you a sampling of The Dogs of My Dog Eats First. Some are housed, some live in tents or cars. Some we have served since they were born. Some we help transition to the other side. We have been a part of the lives of many of these dogs for their entire life. We know and love each and every one of them and their people. We believe in helping people keep their pets by providing them food supplies and sometimes vet care.

We have an urgent situation involving a female veteran, her daughter and two doggies living in their car. The VA contacted us this morning to see if we could help board her dogs while she gets situated in temporary emergency shelter. We are looking for suggestions for reasonably priced boarding. Dogs are medium sized, a smaller doodle mix and a bulldog mix.
We belive in assisting those who.have served our country via our Vet with a Pet program and have assisted with vaccinations, ESA registry if housing requires and short term boarding.

We welcomed a new little face into the My Dog Eats First family last weekend. Turns out, we had an impromptu puppy shower on the hood of my car for Loki and her doting father, Marcus ( pictured used with permission). That morning, a generous donation of puppy food landed on my porch and there were new toys and puppy size treats already in the car.
If your pet has become finicky and no longer likes the stockpile of food that you acquired from your auto order from Chewy ( we've been there!), we accept porch drop donations.

We have received a generous offer to build a little pet pantry for our organization and it's our plan to locate it somewhere in the Highlands area. If you know of a good location in a high foot traffic area, please leave a comment here. Suggestions welcomed.

Louisville- don't sleep on this place! Locals food hub and pizza pub. The atmosphere is casually classy and the food is fantastic. My Dog Eats First uses the meeting room for our board meetings and we meet frequently now so we can eat delicious wood- fired sourdough pizzas. They also serve soups, salads and appetizers made with fresh local ingredients. Located at 822 E. Broadway on the corner of East Broadway and Logan Street, this eatery should be on your list of new places to try for a delicious pizza or giant calzone.
Also, check out the attached Locals Market, open from 11- 9 daily. All products are sourced from over 100 different farmers and producers. The selection is amazing.
