Our community will be praying indoors this time due to the weather, and all brothers and sisters across Louisville, Kentucky are welcome to join us. Eid will be celebrated on Friday, March 20th, 2026. The first prayer will be at 8:30 AM, followed by the second prayer at 9:30 AM.

The Somali Community Center of Kentucky (SCCKY) is delighted to share the success of a landmark meeting held today at our center in Louisville . Under the distinguished leadership of President Saeed Abdalla, our board of directors welcomed Amos Izerimana, Director of International and Immigrant Affairs, and Vivian Martin, Program Manager, from the Louisville Metro Office of immigrant affairs.

This meeting was a meaningful step toward strengthening ties between SCCKY and the Louisville Metro Government. The discussion was vibrant and forward-thinking, focusing on a shared vision for an inclusive Louisville where the Somali community and all immigrants can thrive. Topics included enhancing access to education, promoting economic opportunities, improving language services, and fostering greater civic participation.

President Abdalla highlighted the resilience and aspirations of the Somali community, emphasizing SCCKY’s commitment to empowerment and collaboration. Director Izerimana and Ms. Martin echoed this dedication, outlining the Office of immigrant affair’s mission to support immigrant integration through innovative policies and community engagement.

The meeting underscored a mutual commitment to explore future collaborations that will uplift families and celebrate Louisville’s rich diversity. the dialogue set a strong foundation for ongoing partnership and meaningful action.

Somali commmunity center of Kentucky extends its sincere appreciation to Director Izerimana, and Vivian Martin, for their time, insights, and shared passion for inclusion. We look forward to continued engagement as we work together to build a stronger, more connected community.

Their presence underscored their remarkable dedication to serving our community, and we commend their genuine commitment to listening and understanding our most pressing concerns, including access to healthcare, education, housing, employment, and legal representation.
