Our commitments are to engage in orthopaedic missions worldwide, to expand medical research in the development of innovative technologies, and to provide physician and community education. Our physicians have dedicated themselves to providing orthopaedic care to the underprivileged locally and abroad. They have participated in short term medical mission trips to Cambodia, Rwanda, Brazil and Hondur
as throughout the last 11 years. These trips have offered opportunities to care for impoverished communities that lack proper medical treatment as well as to educate their local heath care providers. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical equipment have been donated by medical device companies, hospitals, our patients and other sponsors, and delivered to third world medical clinics during these trips extending the delivery of advanced medical care. Monetary and in-kind donations help further our mission by sending surgical teams overseas, and supplying medical books, medications and equipment to those whom we are reaching. In addition to these efforts abroad, our physicians have helped bring severely injured third-world patients to Colorado to provide pro-bono reconstructive surgeries, restoring function and quality of life. Our physicians have given community seminars on topics ranging from injury prevention to emerging technologies in orthopedics. These seminars and forums have been presented to patients, physicians, and to specific segments of the community such as senior citizens or active adults. Educational materials, pamphlets, and articles have been written by our physicians and circulated throughout the community raising awareness, giving instruction, encouraging lifestyle changes, and fostering understanding of all things related to the field of orthopedics.
