Here’s your reminder about the coolest party to hit “the slab” at Joe Creason Park, THIS Saturday, 6-9pm.

Councilwoman Josie Raymond and her office are sponsoring this incredible event. This is a great culmination of efforts shared between leaders and community members.

Come check out Roadie and Future Killer play, bring the kids for a bounce-house and free face painting, and enjoy some food and drinks from our vendors. We’ll have local organizations tabling, a book giveaway, and more!

“The Slab” is the concrete lot between the tennis center and the soccer field. Parking will be limited within the park, so walk/bike if you’re able, or park nearby and walk. Bring blankets, hammocks, whatever you need!

SEE YOU THERE 💚🌳

Please check out and donate if you’re able! We love both Louisville Nature Center and Sierra Club of Louisville.

The Bird Blind Mural project was generously grant funded by the Greater Louisville Sierra Club to bring the work of Louisville artist Sabra Crockett to the Louisville Nature Center.

Friends!

It’s been one full year since our park was declared safe from development, and our community and voices were prioritized over private interests.

I’m sure so many of us still revel at our victory and what we saved. Each stroll through the park, picnic in the grass, and moments shared with friends we remember our great work.

What an incredible testament to what happens when people come together toward a common goal. Friends and neighbors used their voices and talents to align to one similar goal- saving a park. And won!

Go climb a tree. Run through the park and enjoy the sunshine and sounds of birds. Get your kiddos and soccer balls and play around. Do what YOU want to do, because that is what parks are for.

Parks are for everyone! 🌳💚

The image/quote shared is from Joe Gerth’s column in the Courier, following the mayor’s decision to stop the development.

It was cold as can be, but that didn’t stop the steady stream of neighbors with hearts and hands full. Thank you.
