Today's Volunteer Fairfax session on "From Overwhelmed to Organized: Priority Setting Tools for Volunteer Managers--From Overwhelmed to Organized: Priority Setting Tools for Vol Manager" was good one today. The session shared about doing a Mini SWAT and Prioritization Matrix along with about 5 scenarios. Volunteer Fairfax offers free webinars each week and they are worth it!

There will be a special blood drive this Friday (May 29th) at our home parish/church, St. John Paul II, located at 3539 Goldsmith Lane from 9am to 2 pm. The blood drive will be the fifth one that we are hosting and doing since Kaitlyn got diagnosed on November 16, 2025 with Leukemia. Between blood transfusions and platelets, Kaitlyn has up to 25 of them so far. Our family is fully aware of the importance of blood donations as it has helped kept our daughter going and saved her life. We encourage those that can come to donate blood this Friday. Those that can, will get a special beach towel as extra gift of gratitude. If you are unable to donate right now, we will have another blood drive event on July 31st in her honor. You can also spread the word on this important cause. We are hoping to get another 15-20 donors at this event. Thanks again for caring and appreciate everyone for checking in and being so supportive these last 6 months.

Thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana - RMHCK for being wonderful host today for the monthly KAVA meeting. Besides a guided tour and some background information on this wonderful non-profit organization, KAVA members were also able to hear from Aimee Jewell of Leadership Louisville and Mary Sullivan, formerly with Metro United Way. The two of them shared insightful information and professional development opportunities from the past, present, and future for KAVA members. Attendees were also able to vote for the next KAVA Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 year. Stay tuned to hear who they will be along with this year's EVE Volunteer Achievement Award!

Dear KAVA Members, I was recently given a financial scholarship to attend the Points of Light Conference that is to be held in Washington DC from June 22 - 25, 2026. The aid given to me was $750.00 which was able to cover the entire conference fee. Due to my daughter's cancer journey, I cannot be away from her for that duration of time so I am happy to give this to KAVA member so he/she can attend the conference. While it does not cover hotel or travel costs, it will help pay for attending this awesome conference and frankly its one of my favorite ones to be part of. Please reach out to me at (502) 640-7716 or [email protected] if you are interested in this opportunity. Take care! Chris Clements
