🌿 LOCUST GROVE: A PLACE WHERE HISTORY SPEAKS
Vision of Life Outreach invites youth, families, churches, women’s groups, community organizations, and educational groups to experience history, nature, and learning at Historic Locust Grove.
Built in the 1790s, Locust Grove is a National Historic Landmark and one of Louisville’s most important historic places. It was the home of William and Lucy Clark Croghan and the final home of General George Rogers Clark, a Revolutionary War figure and founder of Louisville.
Locust Grove’s story also includes the enslaved African American men, women, and children whose labor helped build the house, cultivate the farm, prepare food, care for families, and maintain the property. Archaeological research continues to uncover evidence of their lives, traditions, resilience, and experiences.
