Today marks an exciting milestone for Louisville’s growing advanced manufacturing economy!

Congratulations to Anthro Energy on the groundbreaking of its first commercial-scale manufacturing facility right here in Louisville.

Located on Cane Run Road, the new facility will manufacture Anthro Energy’s advanced electrolyte technology for next-generation lithium-ion batteries and is expected to create approximately 110 high-quality technical and manufacturing jobs and support roughly 390 construction jobs as the project moves forward.

We’re excited to welcome Anthro Energy to Louisville and to see the company become part of Kentucky’s growing network of battery, automotive, energy-storage and advanced manufacturing companies.

Abastos Wholesale is investing $10.3 million in South Louisville, doubling its operational footprint and creating 20 full-time jobs.The expansion will add a new warehouse, administrative space and technology offices, giving Abastos more capacity to serve customers across Kentucky and throughout the country. This investment strengthens Louisville’s position as a regional logistics and distribution hub while supporting the continued growth of a locally founded business. More jobs. More capacity. eBay-owned TCGplayer has opened a new 145,000-square-foot authentication and fulfillment facility in south Louisville, the largest facility of its kind yet.

From Pokémon cards and other collectibles to sneakers, thousands of products will pass through Louisville for authentication and shipment to customers worldwide.

One Louisville is excited to welcome two new members to our Policy & Advocacy team: James “Jimmy” Higdon, Senior Advisor of Public Policy & Advocacy, and Ben Anderson, Manager of Advocacy.

Jimmy joins us in an advisory role and brings more than 20 years of experience in Kentucky government affairs and public policy, most recently with MML&K Government Solutions, where he represented organizations across a wide range of industries and policy areas. A University of Louisville graduate and longtime community advocate, Jimmy has also served organizations including the Kentucky Science Center and provided pro bono lobbying services to Visually Impaired Preschool Services. In his role with One Louisville, he will help sharpen our policy agenda, strengthen our presence in Frankfort and at Metro Hall, and advance the priorities of our region’s business community.

A Louisville native and UofL graduate, Ben returns home with a background spanning public service and international relations in both the U.S. and Taiwan. He most recently worked with the Louisville Free Public Library and holds a Master's in Public Affairs from Princeton University. Ben will support One Louisville’s advocacy efforts through legislative tracking, policy research, and stakeholder engagement.
