Honor Flight Bluegrass

Honor Flight Bluegrass Our hope is to create the greatest memory of a lifetime for each Veteran. Priorities are given in the order of World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War Veterans.

Honor Flight Bluegrass, based in Louisville, Kentucky, and is recognized as a 501(C)(3), all-volunteer, non-profit organization created to honor America’s WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans for all their sacrifices. We fly WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans to Washington, DC and provide them with a first-class VIP tour to each of their respective memorials to honor their service and sacrif

ices. In addition, Veterans from these said wars with a diagnosed terminal illness, will be given top priority. (In reference to Vietnam Veterans, please note, that we do have a waiting list that we are diligently working on so that we can get them on a mission.) Veterans are selected on a “first-come, first-served” basis as relegated by their war service date and application date, regardless of location of duty. Veterans who have served during war time are eligible to apply with Honor Flight Bluegrass. WORLD WAR II (Three eligible categories)

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. As for Honor Flight Bluegrass, we remember this day and all the WWII Veterans throughout the years we have had the opportunity to serve and honor. Sadly, there are so few now, but we should never forget their service and sacrifice that saved not only our country, but so many others.
They will always be the Greatest Generation!

Thank you to WWII Marine Veteran Dale Faughn who left us with great memories and his D-Day poem. You are missed!

We had the opportunity to take 3 lady Veterans with us on this trip … what an honor! There is something about traveling with other Veterans … the sisterhood and brotherhood … they signed the dotted line … Carry on … ❤️

Before this 40th flight, we lost 2 Veterans that were set to travel with us and a long standing and committed to the core Board member, Billy Garwood. While our 84 Veterans had an amazing day, we as a staff carried a hole in our heart for these three gentlemen, but we know these men would be proud that the mission carried on as we honored the service of all those with us. God bless! Honor Flight Network
