The 2026 Kentucky Closed, Kentucky Women's Closed, and Kentucky Junior (U21) Closed championships were held this past weekend. Congratulations to our new champions!

Kentucky Champion
FM Evan Sammons won the state championship with 4.5/5. CM John Abraham took second with 3.5/5 and Jerry Baker was third with 3.0.

Women's Champions
Katie Yuan (blue shirt, from last year's win) and Natalia Ushakova are women's co-champions with 4.5/5. Daniela Lopez Tenorio took third place with 3/5. Notably, the 2025 Women and Girl's Open was Natalia's first tournament!

If you would like to qualify for next year's Women's Closed Championship, play in the 2026 Women and Girl's Open on 17 October in Frankfort (details coming soon!).

Junior (U21) Champion
Samir Salem went undefeated to win the Junior Championship. Second was Connor Edmondson (3.5/5) and third was Nicholas Gabbard (3.0/5).
