It is with sadness that Four Pegs Smokehouse and Bar, NAMI Louisville, and The Pete Foundation have decided to cancel A Taste for Life in 2025 with hopes of further strengthening the event next year.
As community based non-profits, we are well-practiced in stretching dollars, shooting high in the name of our missions, and finding a way even when funding falls short. Sadly, high costs of event production, combined with the rocky financial environment we are all feeling personally and professionally, have made it impossible for us to host this event at the high calibur of production it deserves.
The weight of this decision is not lost on our planning committee and Taste for Life community as even without the event, the goal of breaking mental health stigma within the service industry remains incredibly important. This event is more than a street festival. It is a celebration of our love of good food, better people, and a shared purpose. Even now, these ideas are not cancelled. They live in our hearts and remind us to keep fighting.
