So excited to share all that’s been going on behind the scenes with this partnership! Don’t worry- we’re not dissolving the chronic illness alliance- we’re working to make support more accessible to all! A great opportunity for community!

Hi Seekers and Friends! We are excited to announce our Un******ng Advocacy Conference which will take place on May 31st! This conference is no cost for disabled people and the folks that love them. We define Disability as a social model. Therefore, we will not out anyone and you do not have to prove anything to us! Just come as you are. If people want information, please contact The Independence Seekers Project 502-509-9363 or on our website https://www.independenceseekersproject.org/
Image Description: A purple and white flyer.Sponsored by the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disability and ISP. Independence Seekers Project (ISP) is a Nonprofit organization that supports and uplifts disabled individuals as they explore new definitions of independence and community. We believe that independence doesn’t mean doing everything alone—it means having the right tools, choices, and support to thrive in ways that are personally meaningful. We work with disabled people of all kinds—across all ages and backgrounds—to create a culture of mutual support, empowerment, and interdependence, where everyone has the chance to be heard, valued, and included.
ISP’s Unconference is a free Kentucky-focused two-day gathering created for and by disabled people. Unlike a traditional conference, an unconference is driven by the participants themselves.
This special event is an opportunity for disabled individuals to:
• Share their voices, ideas, and experiences
• Talk openly about their goals, dreams, interpersonal relationships, sexuality, and challenges
• Learn about advocacy, communication, and self-determination
• Build confidence and connection in a safe, inclusive space
• We will host the Unconference on May 31 at the UofL Shelby Campus
The first day is a social event from 6-8 pm with games, music, and appetizers. The second day is from 10 am-6 pm.
