ChooseWell is honored to be spending the morning volunteering at the WHAS Crusade for Children. They do so much good work in the community. Thank you to the first responding fire fighters all over collecting donations literally door to door and driving them to the station! And thank you WHAS11 News for airing this important cause.

There’s something powerful about showing up for children in a space that exists entirely to lift them up. Today we’re serving in a security role, but the meaning runs deeper than the task itself.

At ChooseWell, we see every day how early childhood is shaped by what surrounds it—stress, safety, connection, and stability. When parents begin building recovery capital, they’re not just changing their own lives—they’re changing the emotional and developmental landscape their children grow up in.

Protecting children under five means protecting their developing brains, their sense of safety, and their belief that the world can be steady and kind.

We don’t take that lightly.

🎉 Another One-Year Sobriety Celebration! 🎉

This week, Hannah celebrated one year of continuous sobriety!

One year of showing up for herself every single day. One year of making recovery a priority, even when life was difficult. One year of choosing honesty, accountability, growth, and healing over old patterns and familiar struggles.

Recovery isn’t built in a single moment—it is built in the daily decisions that no one else sees. The meetings attended, the support accepted, the hard conversations had, and the willingness to keep moving forward one day at a time. Hannah has done that work faithfully, and it shows.

Today, we celebrate not only the milestone but the courage, determination, and resilience it took to get here. One year is a powerful accomplishment, and it lays the foundation for all the good things still to come.

✨Maddie celebrated one year of sobriety yesterday!✨

3️⃣6️⃣5️⃣ days. 1️⃣ day at a time.

Over the last year, she has practiced patience with herself while raising two children under the age of three, committed to daily recovery capital work, dedicated herself to her family, embraced everything Choosewell has to offer, and successfully completed her internship.

Her journey has not been easy, but it has been forward—and that’s what matters.

Recovery isn’t about perfection; it’s not linear. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and continuing to move in the right direction no matter what obstacles appear along the way.

Maddie is a shining example of resilience, determination, and what can happen when recovery comes first. We are incredibly proud of her and honored to walk alongside her on this journey.

🎉 Celebrating 4 Years of Sobriety! 🎉

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone for a very special woman—Lashelle is celebrating 4 years of continuous sobriety!

Lashelle is a graduate of ChooseWell, and one thing we know is that recovery doesn’t end at graduation. Life keeps happening, and that’s why ChooseWell remains a part of the journey long after participants complete the program.

Over the years, Lashelle has worked hard to strengthen her recovery, build her recovery capital, and create a life she can be proud of. She has a wonderful family, a supportive partner, and continues to give back to the ChooseWell community whenever she can.

Her commitment to recovery, her willingness to keep growing, and her dedication to helping others are an inspiration to all of us. Milestones like this don’t happen by accident—they are built one day, one decision, and one act of courage at a time.

Lashelle, we are so proud of you and grateful to be a small part of your journey. Thank you for showing others what is possible.

🎉 Monday Morning Celebration! 🎉

About a year ago, Kayla was referred to ChooseWell by Seven Counties Services. Fresh in recovery and caring for a baby, she knew she needed additional support, accountability, and community. Most importantly, she reached out for help herself—a powerful sign that she was ready to do the work.

At the time, Kayla was living in transitional recovery housing and was unemployed. Today, her life looks very different.

She has her own apartment, is employed at a local retail business, and after only a short time on the job, she earned a promotion to Assistant Store Manager!

Success like this doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from willingness, honesty, consistency, and a commitment to building recovery capital every day. It comes from showing up for your recovery, your responsibilities, and your children, even when it’s difficult.

Today, we celebrate Kayla for everything she has accomplished over the past year. Her growth is a reminder that recovery creates opportunities, stability, and a brighter future for families.

ChooseWell was proud to support the annual gala for the Token III Club last night.

Since 1965, the Token 3 Club has provided a safe and welcoming place for people seeking recovery, connection, and a better life through 12-step fellowship and peer support in Louisville.

Many ChooseWell participants attend meetings there throughout the week, finding not only recovery support, but community, hope, and belonging.

We are grateful for organizations like the Token 3 Club and proud to support the work they do for our city and for so many families walking the path of recovery.

Today we celebrate Ilona and a huge milestone in her recovery journey! 🎉

Ilona has officially graduated from the transitional program at New Leaf Clinic - Mental Health and Addiction Treatment after successfully completing all 9 months of the program requirements. That kind of commitment, perseverance, honesty, and hard work deserves to be recognized.

Programs like New Leaf are doing incredible things in Louisville by helping people build stability, confidence, and recovery capital that lasts far beyond early sobriety. Completing a program like this is not easy — and finishing what you start is a powerful reminder that growth and healing are possible.

Please help us congratulate Ilona on this amazing achievement and this next chapter of her life. Recovery opens doors, restores hope, and proves every single day that it only gets better from here. 💚

Yesterday, Lucretia bought her very own car — paid for in full with money she earned and diligently saved from her full-time job.

That means no more waiting on the bus in the rain with a child in tow.
No more worrying if transportation will fall through.
No more being late to work or daycare and having to explain why.
No more spending hours navigating systems that were never designed to make life easier for working parents trying to rebuild.

This car represents something bigger: freedom, consistency, and the ability to move through life with a little more peace.

At Choosewell Communities, we talk a lot about family preservation — but moments like this are what it actually looks like in real life. Safe transportation matters. Reliable employment matters. Economic mobility matters.
