UPDATE: We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and encouragement from not only our Miracle League family, but from across Louisville. Thank you for reminding us just how much this little field and park in Fern Creek means to so many people.

We are working alongside Louisville Metro Parks and Fern Creek Babe Ruth to clean up what we can, and we will replace what cannot be repaired. The graffiti may have left its mark on our park, but it has not left its mark on our spirit.

As for the individuals responsible, accountability matters. But so does understanding. The Miracle League has always been a place where people are seen, valued, included, and loved. We hope that one day they will come meet our athletes and families and see firsthand what happens here on Saturday’s in the spring and fall. Bad decisions don’t always make bad people, and there is incredible hope to be found on this field.

If you’ve never visited The Miracle League of Louisville located in Fern Creek Park, consider this your invitation. We have two game days left this season (6/13 and 6/20; 9:00 a.m. a 4:00 p.m.), and everyone is welcome. Come see this real-life Field of Dreams for yourself. We think you’ll leave believing in a little more good than when you arrived. ❤️⚾️♿️

💔 This one hurts.

Today we learned that someone vandalized our signs, sidewalks, and building with graffiti.

And honestly, we’re struggling to understand why.

This isn’t just a ballfield. Miracle League Park is a place where children and adults with disabilities get the chance to experience the joy of the game. It’s where friendships are formed, confidence is built, and families find community. It’s a place filled with laughter, encouragement, hope, and belonging.

Of all the places in our city, this is the place someone chose.

While Metro Louisville will help us clean up much of the damage, our donor recognition sign was heavily vandalized and will likely need to be replaced. Unfortunately, that’s not an inexpensive fix.

The frustrating part isn’t just the damage. It’s knowing that this happened at a place built entirely around giving people opportunities, creating memories, and making sure everyone has a chance to play.

The good news? Spray paint doesn’t define this park. The people who fill it with joy every day do.

Miracle League has faced bigger challenges than this, and we’ll move forward the same way we always have; with a community that shows up for one another.
