Going above and beyond to build credentials for a bright future! Andrew Pfeifer spent the summer before senior year at Dutchess Community College taking a 15-week Mechatronics course where he earned not one, not two, but THREE SACA gold certifications!

As DCC Mechatronics Coordinator Nick Lane says, "Andrew will be hireable very soon, and there will be a bidding war for him when he is ready. He is the future of advanced manufacturing in the Hudson Valley!"

SACA has been a longtime partner with CESMII in efforts to grow the skilled workforce in smart manufacturing. This partnership includes several micro-credentials which individuals can use toward post-secondary credits, to secure high-demand jobs, or as a pathway to career growth anywhere in the country.

Conrad Leiva, VP at CESMII, says new workers in manufacturing "need education tracks, added skills and career-growth pathways to higher-paying jobs, so weโ€™re expanding our micro-credentialing support, which is adapting and growing to meet changing needs. Industry is recognizing that we need national standards for micro-credentials, so participants and organizations can avoid zip-code certifications that only apply to limited areas.โ€

Congratulations to Joel Montemayor of Los Fresnos CISD on earning his SACA C-201 Electric Motor Control Systems and C-202 Variable Frequency Drive Systems Gold certifications!

Joel is part of Los Fresnos ISDโ€™s Advanced Manufacturing program, where students have the opportunity to earn dual credit through Texas State Technical College while developing hands-on skills for careers in advanced manufacturing and industry.

๐Ÿ… Ethan, Jose, Mathann and Kevin from Envases have spent the last three weeks on their grind at The WorkSITE of WacoWorkSITE, building skills they can take straight back to the Waco Envases plant.

The group trained hands-on with bearings, belts, motors and shafts, wrapping up the program with laser alignment.

And all four officially earned their SACA Gold certifications!

Instructor Jerry Wilkey said their attitude stood out from day one. โ€œThey came in hungry for knowledge and were very engaged. They made it fun.โ€

Congratulations, Mathann, Ethan, Jose and Kevin! Weโ€™re excited to see you put those new skills to work.

๐Ÿ† Congratulations to the winners of our first Student Case Competition at SACACON!

Cotter Schools students Jack Slaggie, Zephyr Paulsen, and Jaxon Greshik, coached by K. Eric Paulsen, designed, prototyped and presented a unique fabrication design meant to solve real-world manufacturing challenges in the furniture building industry.

After winning the competition, the team was invited to present their solution to the entire conference audience of 250+ educators and industrial employers, who were blown away by the students.
