🏆 Congratulations to the winners of our first Student Case Competition at SACACON!

Cotter Schools students Jack Slaggie, Zephyr Paulsen, and Jaxon Greshik, coached by K. Eric Paulsen, designed, prototyped and presented a unique fabrication design meant to solve real-world manufacturing challenges in the furniture building industry.

After winning the competition, the team was invited to present their solution to the entire conference audience of 250+ educators and industrial employers, who were blown away by the students.

SACACON Day 2 featured a theme that was loud & clear: technical education needs to move fast, be nimble, and stay relevant. SACA and our member institutions are committed to doing exactly that.

Today’s sessions included:
➡️ An invigorating keynote from Rod Copes (Slate Auto)
➡️ A panel on the most innovative baccalaureate degree in the nation, with Chancellor Katherine Frank ( of Wisconsin-Stout), Dr. Johannes Britz (Universities of Wisconsin), and Dr. David Ding (UW-Stout Polytechnic)
➡️ Fantastic presentations from our winning high school competition team (Cotter Schools)

Plus, a dozen more fantastic breakout sessions with actionable insights for SACA members to learn from one another.

🏆And finally, a huge congratulations to all winners of our inaugural awards!

All we can say is…wow! What a conference, what an incredible two days, what an AMAZING group of educators & employers coming together for the future of the manufacturing workforce!
