CHOICE Louisville Dedicated to provided the needed services that will allow youths and adolescents to reach their maximum potential via a positive, healthy lifestyle C.H.O.I.C.E.

has provided prevention and early intervention education for ages 9 to 19 facing Adverse Childhood Experiences in Jefferson County Public Schools for over 30 years during school hours. At our Advanced Mentor Training yesterday, we were reminded of what C.H.O.I.C.E. is truly about. ❤️

Family isn’t just a word. It’s a choice. A choice to show up, support, encourage, protect, and create a space where people can authentically be themselves and know they belong.

Yesterday, one of our C.H.O.I.C.E. parents catered lunch for our mentors, creating a beautiful full-circle moment. Her daughter, Jacky, our 2025–2026 Iroquois High School Mentor of the Year, spent three years growing with C.H.O.I.C.E. Now, we get to watch her come back, volunteer alongside her family, and continue pouring into the community that poured into her.

At the same time, we had the opportunity to support one of our own families as they explore small business entrepreneurship. That’s what family looks like.
We’re not only here when life gets hard. We’re here for the wins, too. The growth, new beginnings, accomplishments, and beautiful full-circle moments.

Because belonging means having a safe place to land and people who will cheer when you soar. 💙

Our Fern Creek High School and Iroquois High School Dare to Dream Mentors are coming together for Advanced Mentoring Training!

This is more than a training. It is an opportunity to strengthen leadership, build meaningful connections, and prepare our young people to make a lasting impact in the lives of their mentees.

👥 Community members are welcome to observe.

We are preparing mentors who understand that leadership is not just about being seen. It is about showing up, building relationships, and helping someone else believe in what is possible.

Kentucky now allows eligible adults ages 18–20 to obtain a provisional concealed-carry license after completing required training and meeting eligibility requirements.

Supporters view the change as an expansion of legal rights for young adults. Others question whether increasing concealed fi***rm access among 18–20-year-olds could affect younger teenagers within their social circles.

Although Louisville has made progress in reducing shootings, local reports indicate that 17 teenagers had lost their lives to gun violence in 2026 as of September 14.

We are excited to return to Perry Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year! Nearly all of our mentees participated in C.H.O.I.C.E. last school year, making it even more meaningful to watch them step into their new House Leader roles and experience their House induction ceremony. The energy in the room was exhilarating!
