Kentucky Hemophilia Foundation KHF’s assists persons with hemophilia and similar bleeding disorders through education, advocacy, and support services.

KHF facilitates empowerment and self-advocacy; provides information/referrals, seminars, and summer camp for children and teens. A person with hemophilia or a related inherited bleeding disorder must be careful about minor injuries the rest of us hardly notice. Children and their parents must remain constantly vigilant. Many activities, like riding a bicycle, must be approached with caution. There

are other persistent challenges associated with inherited bleeding disorders. Treatment, which involves the infusion of the missing clotting factors into the bloodstream, is extremely expensive. Because the condition is lifelong and, as yet, incurable, treatment may never be stopped. In addition, degenerative orthopedic problems often develop as the result of repeated bleeding in the joints. Viral infections, such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis, have been contracted in the past from contaminated blood products. In fact, HIV/AIDS has been the single, most frequently fatal, health complication for individuals with hemophilia.

Summer is almost over and fall is right around the corner. Falling leaves, carved pumpkins, apple cider, and KHF’s Women’s Retreat! 🍂🎃🎑

Our 2025 Women’s Retreat went so well that we’re doing it again this year in collaboration with Soleo Health and the West Virginia Chapter of NBDF. The Women’s Retreat is an educational conference for women and teen girls (13-17) living with bleeding disorders or carrier diagnosis. This year, we’ll be at the Delta Hotel in Ashland, KY from October 2-4, just in time to enjoy the gorgeous Kentuckian autumn scenery! 🍁

Can you believe camp is already over? ❤️

What a week it has been. From new adventures and nonstop laughter to lifelong memories and friendships that only grew stronger, Camp Discovery reminded us once again just how special this community is.

We are so incredibly proud of each and every camper for their courage, kindness, and willingness to try new things. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy, and hearts to make this week unforgettable.

We are so grateful for this experience every single year and for everyone who makes it possible. Until next time, Camp Discovery—we already can’t wait to see you all again! 🏕️✨

Somehow, it’s already our last full day at Camp Discovery. ❤️

As the week winds down, we’re soaking up every last moment together. We cooled off with plenty of pool time, put our detective skills to the test during a live-action game of Clue, took one more trip down the zip line, and kept one of our favorite camp traditions alive with a grill out shared with friends. We wrapped up the evening by dancing the night away and making memories that will last forever.

It’s hard to believe how quickly this week has flown by, but we’re grateful for the memories, friendships, and confidence built along the way. One more day to celebrate an unforgettable week together. ✨

Day 3 of Camp Discovery proved that a little rain couldn’t slow us down! 🌧️🎣 We spent the morning fishing, got creative with arts and crafts, played plenty of card games, and made sure to fit in an evening swim—because no camp day is complete without pool time! 🏊

One of the biggest highlights of the day was learning how to self-infuse, building confidence and independence in a supportive environment. More memories to come tomorrow & hopefully less rain! ❤️

Day 2 of Camp Discovery was packed from start to finish! 🕵️☀️

Campers jumped straight into the fun with swimming, archery, canoeing, spy challenges, escape rooms, and arts & crafts. Every activity brought new adventures, teamwork, and plenty of laughs as campers built confidence, made memories, and strengthened friendships.

The adventures are just getting started, and we can’t wait to see where tomorrow takes us! ❤️

Camp is officially underway! ❤️

We kicked off the week with s’mores around the campfire, plenty of camp songs, and the first mission—building our spy squads! From reconnecting with old friends to making new ones, today was filled with laughter, learning, and the excitement of everything still to come.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store! 🕵️🔥🍫
