We had the pleasure of bringing the Ellis Park backside community together for an afternoon of great food and appreciation!

At the Kentucky HBPA, we believe the heart of Thoroughbred racing is the hardworking people behind the scenes — this picnic was our way of saying thank you.

*Stakes closings begin on Mon, Aug 17. The Ky Downs racing office is NOW open (Thursday, Aug 13 AM) and accepting nominations.
*Aug 22 is the deadline to receive a Zero date (papers at Ellis will move automatically.
*Please note the deadlines for the invitationals.

Ellis Park's Friday Card Moves to Monday; Saturday and Sunday First Post Moved to 10 a.m. CT

HENDERSON, Ky. (Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026) – Ellis Park’s live racing schedule will be adjusted this weekend due to forecast heat index values of up to 109 degrees in the Henderson area.

Friday’s card will move in its entirety to Monday, while Saturday and Sunday will have an adjusted first post of 10 a.m. CT. First post Monday is 11:50 a.m. CT.
