Horsemen: Don't miss out on Ellis Park & Owensboro Gaming's 2026 summer meet! Record stakes: $4.125 million for 18 races, headed by the Aug. 1-2 all-turf Ellis Park Summer Showcase (replaces what was Kentucky Downs Preview Weekend) and the six-stakes extravaganza on Aug. 9 highlighted by the $400,000 Ellis Park Derby. A record $4.125 million stakes schedule featuring 18 races will be offered during Ellis Park Racing & Gaming's 2026 season, which runs from July 2-Aug. 23. Highlighting the season is Ellis Park Summer Showcase Weekend on Aug. 1-2, which features seven turf stakes worth a combined $1.75 million.

A Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU) advisory cautioning horsemen to make sure they don't have any Paiyao/Baiyao herbal supplements in their barn because of the possibility of banned substances not included on the ingredients list.

Following up on an advisory distributed in January 2024, HIWU strongly advises horsemen to dispose of any variations of the herbal products that may be identified on the labels as Yunnan Paiyao, Yunnan Baiyao, and/or Baiyao. HIWU continues to find these supplements during searches despite the risks....
