Our friends at Highlands Community Ministries are asking for help filling the shelves of their Food Pantry.
Food insecurity is at an all-time high with 1 in 6 people and 1 in 5 children experiencing food insecurity. At the same time, food supplies are becoming increasingly limited.
Right now, the Food Pantryâs greatest need is shelf-stable protein, including:
⢠Canned chicken and tuna
⢠Soups and chili with meat
⢠Canned pasta sauce with meat
⢠Other shelf-stable proteins
They are also in need of cereal, oatmeal, rice, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, granola bars, jelly, cooking oil, flour, sugar, coffee, tea and more.
When donating, please consider what you would want to feed your own family. Pop-top cans and smaller-sized items are especially helpful for neighbors who may not have regular kitchen access or who rely on public transportation.
Food donations can be dropped off Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at:
Highlands Community Ministries/Unity
1228 E. Breckinridge St.
Louisville, KY 40204
Canât make those hours? Email Tiffany Murphy at [email protected] to arrange another time or schedule a pickup.
Every donation helps a neighbor who needs it. As part of the Highlands Community Ministries community, Unity of Louisville is proud to support this important work. Please help us fill the shelves.
